1. Introduction

Welcome to DWAR — India’s first 100% free digital doorbell. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.

We do not sell your data. We do not record your video or audio calls. We do not track your location.

By using DWAR, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you disagree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Only What’s Necessary

We collect only the minimal data required to make DWAR work:

  • Your name and profile photo — fetched automatically when you sign in with Google (only for identity verification).
  • Your email or phone number — to create your account and send notifications.
  • Device ID and app version — to ensure the app runs correctly and to fix bugs.
  • Visitor name and purpose — entered by visitors when they scan your QR code (stored only to show you who visited).
  • Timestamps and QR scan logs — to show you your visitor history.

2.2 What We NEVER Collect

We do NOT collect or store:

  • Any video or audio recordings of your calls
  • Your location (GPS, IP-based or otherwise)
  • Your contacts, photos, or files
  • Your browsing history or behavior outside the app

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for these limited purposes:

  • To notify you when someone scans your DWAR QR code
  • To enable communication between you and visitors via Google Meet (we do not host or store these calls)
  • To show your visitor history in the app
  • To improve app performance — for example, fixing crashes or optimizing load times
  • To send important updates about your account or service changes

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your data. We only share information with trusted third parties to make DWAR work:

  • Google — to authenticate your identity via Google OAuth and to generate video call links via Google Meet (which is hosted entirely by Google).
  • Firebase (Google) — to send push notifications to your phone.
  • Ad networks — to display non-intrusive banner ads on the visitor page (these ads are shown to visitors, not you, and do not track you).

We never share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or other companies for their own use.

5. Data Security

We take your privacy seriously and use industry-standard practices:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
  • Access to our servers is restricted to authorized personnel
  • We conduct regular security reviews
  • We use secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud)

However, no digital system is 100% immune to attack. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do everything reasonably possible to protect your data.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as needed:

  • Your account and visitor logs are stored for 90 days unless you delete them manually.
  • After 90 days, all visitor data is permanently deleted.
  • If you delete your account, we delete all your data within 7 days.

We retain minimal logs for system security and compliance, but these do not contain personal identifiers.

7. Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data stored in DWAR
  • Correct any inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at: dwar.bell@gmail.com or use our data deletion request form. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children’s Privacy

DWAR is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by:

  • Posting the updated policy on this page
  • Showing a notice inside the DWAR app

Continued use of DWAR after changes means you accept the new policy.
